What is "Super Dollfie 10 Year History ~Forever in Your Arms~" ?
The decade of Super Dollfie is days that we (VOLKS, VIRGINAL ART and ZOUKEI-MURA) have had with your support.
Doll Design Department show you the ten years history with photos and from various sides.
“The Ten Year History of Super Dollfie: 2008”
At 'Hometown Dolpa Osaka 5', held on August 3rd, SD13 Boy 'Eden' made his debut as the first boy in 'The Maidens'
Promises'. In 'Harajuku Memories', MSD Girl 'Yui Sweet Dream Version' made her appearance, and the long-awaited SD Cute Boy 'Ryu' was introduced.
And continuing on from April, YoSD 'Kun' and 'Ryo' debuted, their sweetness bringing smiles to the faces of Owners.
On the 13th of the following month, we held the 'Tenshi-no-Sumika Standard Fair 2008', and SD Girl 'Kira' made her debut as a Limited SD, utilizing the newly developed 'Origin Body'. And at the same time we also completely
renewed all of our Standard Models, as well as our Tenshi-no-Sumika Full Choice System lineup.
And then, autumn. On October 11th, we held the now well-established 'Angels Descending Autumn 2008' event. The angels that descended were the best friend pair, Yo-Tenshi 'Hinata' and 'Shizuku'. The Tenshi-no-Sato Full Choice System was also renewed.
2008 was also the commemorative year of it being one thousand years since 'The Tale of Genji' first appeared in this world. In Kyoto, many events were held that focused on those good old days, as a part of 'The Tale of Genji Millennium'. Volks, with our head office located in Kyoto, also wanted to take part. And so, we reproduced 'The Tale of Genji' via the world of Super Dollfie.
So taking advantage of 'Angels Descending Autumn 2008', we held 'The Tale of Genji ~The Beautiful Heian Society performed by Super Dollfie~'.
SD17 Boy 'Hikaru Genji' made his entrance there, as a part of 'Echoes of a Beautiful Banquet'. With his appearance that seemed as if he had slipped right out of the story itself, he charmed and delighted Owners everywhere.
On November 1st, we held our first trial 'Dolls Party in VOLKS USA Website'.
Rather than Japan, it was in the distant United States of America. Even though we had held Dolpas in Los Angeles and New York, we were still constantly receiving requests from countless SD fans who were not able to take part. We had even received earnest requests from fans who had folded a thousand paper cranes for us. And after thinking about how we could live up to these sincere requests, the end result was this Dolpa held on the Website.
It was there that a brand new member of the 'JEWELS' story, SD16 Girl 'Pearl', made her debut, her mysterious radiance eliciting sighs from Owners everywhere.
On November 29th, 'Komame's Lil' Custom Lessons for Super Dollfie' at last made its long-awaited appearance. 'Lil' Custom Lessons' is a handbook that the Doll Design Department offers to all current and future SD Owners, so that they can get more and more enjoyment from their Super Dollfie. Crammed full of the day by day evolution of Super Dollfie's charm, it is a compilation that is sure to see a continuation.
Right from the first day of sales, we received many comments, such as "this is just the sort of information I'd been after!" and "it'd be wonderful if there's more!". And so it became a volume that offered many expectations for the future as well. As a First Edition Special Extra for this first issue, a 'teeny Komame strap' was included, and it also received much popularity accordingly.
And then December 7th, still so fresh in our memories. We held the double-lineup event 'SD 10th Anniversary' / 'Dolls Party 20'. For the Limited SD, SD Girl 'Kurumi Dolpa 20 Version', SD13 Boy 'Tohya Dolpa 20 Version', and YoSD 'Lin Dolpa 20 Version' and 'Shinn Dolpa 20 Version' made their debut as the popular SD who had received a huge amount of support from everyone via 'The Best Selection' held on the 'Super Dollfie 10th Anniversary Website', which itself had been established to commemorate the 10th Anniversary.
In addition, SD Girl 'Miruku' and SD13 Boy 'Kohya Dolpa 20 Version' debuted as Event Limited items. And not only that; with the debut of SD16 Girls 'Iris' and 'Johanna' in 'Journey to Dream Nights' as well, this lineup, so well suited for the Dolls Party bringing the 10th Anniversary year to a close, was met with a truly enthusiastic response.
And absolutely every part of this Dolpa was at a record high level. Having reserved the east halls 4, 5 and 6 of Tokyo Big Site, it became a huge event that had never been seen before. On the day itself, 'the WORLD of Super Dollfie ~to a Distant Dream~' appeared within the event halls, unfolding a world where Owners could enjoy the 10 years of SD history. There was a Dolpa Exhibition and a dream Limited Doll resale of those that had shone at the highest rank in 'The Best Selection'. And with the many extravagant photography areas that were included in the debut of this 'World', we received countless excited comments such as "there are so many features that I barely know where to start!"
Next year: February 28th, 2009. Super Dollfie will at last go out to meet the 10th Anniversary of their birth.
The many months and years of the decade that has passed us by... they've seemed long, yet been short; they've seemed simple, yet been complex.
To the many Owners that have been a part of this memorable 10th Anniversary with us, we feel such gratitude that no matter how many times we say it, it may never be enough.
This miracle - that we've been able to welcome this tenth year, together with all of you - is without a doubt something that we will treasure from here onwards. Thank you all, so very much.
Super Dollfie will accept all of their Owners' hopes and expectations, and continue to evolve.
