“The Ten Year History of Super Dollfie: 2008”
And at last, 2008.
The year had finally come when we could declare the 10th Anniversary of the birth of Super Dollfie.
On February 16th, we held the 'SD Owners Appreciation Fair in Haus Ten Bosch and Hotel Europe '08' event. This was the forerunner of the SD 10th Anniversary that Volks would be delivering throughout the year. Our 10th Anniversary commemorative logo made a grand debut at the event. Surely it imparted to the participating customers that a memorable year was coming to greet them!

This event had received a wonderfully favorable reception when held the year before, and many more customers applied for it than the first time around. And so it ended up an event enjoyed by all. This time Owners welcomed home SD Masha, who had been so popularly received at 'Dolls Party in N.Y. City 2007' the year before. She made her debut after we received countless requests for her from our Japanese customers.
And then, on February 28th, the ninth birthday of Super Dollfie, the Special 10th Anniversary Website was opened.
"We want to celebrate the 10th birthday of Super Dollfie together with all our Owners!"
It was from this desire that this new project began, aiming for the tenth birthday.
We prepared contents that Owners could participate in, such as 'Traveling the SD 10 Year History Together' and 'The Best Selection', allowing us to receive countless warm words, photos of adorable, beloved SD, and votes about our products from everyone who took part.
And at all of our Tenshi-no-Sumikas, we ran a 'SD 10th Anniversary Corner Design Competition', which received even more support than usual from our many visiting customers. The one chosen to receive the award for the most memorable design was Fukuyama Showroom. They took center stage with a design that presented the full extent of the sheer cuteness of Yo-SD.
After the opening of the special site, it continued to expand to include more and more content appropriate to the 10th Anniversary, steadily evolving into a fully-fledged specialty site.

On the 15th of the following month, we held the now well-established 'Tenshi-no-Sato 4th Anniversary Fair' event. For the Limited SD, it was the descent of Seirei 'Sakaki' and Yo-Tenshi 'Yayoi'. The appearance of the long-awaited Sakaki and the adorable Yayoi delighted our Owners, and our angels were wrapped in beaming smiles and welcomed home by many.
That evening, we held a 'Kyoto Dolpa 5 Dolls Party Eve in Tenshi-no-Sato' event. For those Owners that took part, the plump-cheeked Yo-Tenshi 'Yuh White Snow Version' made its debut, its loveliness bringing blessings to Owners.

On the following day, the 16th, we held 'Hometown Dolpa Kyoto 5'. The Limited SD of note was the appearance of SD13 Boy 'Okita Souji' from 'Echoes of a Beautiful Banquet', an appropriate figure for this event held in Kyoto. He completed captivated the gazes of Owners.
It was also the debut of SD Girls 'Rose' and 'Bianka', sisters clad in beautiful 'BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT' dresses for 'Harajuku Memories'. And for the Yo-SD, our melodic spirits 'Neon' and 'Kanon' made an appearance.
On April 19th, the 'Doki Doki Doll Design Dept. Blog' was started. It was the start of news from the Doll Design Department in blog form, news that up until then had only made the briefest of appearances at large events. And so not only was event information and item information posted, but also many little details that you could only learn from the 'Doki Blog'. It soon came to be seen by many as a source of valuable information.
With barely a moment of pause, we held 'Dolls Party 19' on April 27th.
SD Girl 'Tae' made her debut, in a new tale just beginning to be told: 'The Naval Academy - Spring Snow's Love'. 'Tae Sweet Dream Version' also debuted at the same time, her expression calling out to Owners of a young girl's lonely love.
There was also SD13 Boy 'Tsuyoshi Maki', from 'The Top Secret' by Reiko Shimizu, and SD16 Girl 'Olivia Morgan' made her appearance from 'Los Angeles Boys Story', all spruced up in a new outfit.
And to commemorate our 10th Anniversary, the first SD to ever descend to this world - 'Kira', 'Sara', 'Nana' and 'Megu' - made their debut in Yo-SD size. Retaining their original look, these four little angels alighted in the hands of Owners. These angels looked so happy to receive so much love, both from Owners who had loved SD these ten long years, and from Owners who were just coming to know of SD for the first time now. It seemed like a miracle achieved by the history of those ten years.

Our SD 10th Anniversary 'Memorial Goods' also made their debut at this time.
It was the first time we'd offered promotional items, such as the 'Lanyard' given out to VS and VIP customers who filled out our surveys, and the cute, interchangeable 'Button Sets'. Unlike what we'd offered up until then, they weren't items with direct relation to Super Dollfie, such as outfits or makeup tools. And yet they were very well received with the affirmation: "they're so cute!"

On June 7th we held our third event in New York, 'Dolls Party in N.Y. City 3 2008'. As was customary, it was a collaborative event with 'Fashion Doll Quarterly (FDQ)', and SD13 Boy 'Irvin' made his debut as the FDQ Magazine Limited Edition item. Irvin made his appearance in this world from the forests of another world, and the huge number of requests for him did not stop with our American Owners; many came from our Japanese Owners as well.

On the 22nd of the same month, we held a 'SD Owners Appreciation Fair in Korea'. SD Girl 'Ran' made her debut, clad in an outfit by 'h.NAOTO', who enjoy great popularity in Korea as well. It warms our hearts even now to think of the happy times that our Korean owners are sharing with their beloved 'Ran'.

And then July 19th came around, and we held the long-awaited 'SD Owners Appreciation Fair Tokyo Bay Cruising 2008'. This event had captured the attention of countless Owners since we first released information about it, and as a result received the most applications out of any of the Appreciation Fair events thus far. And at least a part of the reason for that was the debut of SD17 Boy 'Reisner the ScarFACE ~the Shadow of Captain~'.
The appearance of the tremendously popular Reisner delivered to many Owners a feeling akin to a shockwave.
This event came to a close on a highly successful note, inspiring us all anew for the SD Owners Appreciation Fairs that we would be holding in the future.
On the 26th, we held our very first 'Private Party in Tenshi-no-Sato' event. The 'Komame Stamp Rally' had been born from a desire to have our Owners go around and visit many different Tenshi-no-Sumikas... and we held the Party to express our gratitude to the Owners who had made their way all over the country for that very Stamp Rally.
Komame even made an appearance at the event, extending gratitude to everyone on our behalf. The 'Private Party' - scheduled to be held once again in autumn - was a truly substantial event, even including inspection tours of the culturally important 'Kachu-an' location.
