SD 10 Year History of Super Dollfie

“The Ten Year History of Super Dollfie: 2004”

We entered May, and on the 2nd, we held 'Home Town Dolpa Tokyo 2'. The recently debuted SD Girl 'Momoko' and the mysterious youth 'Tohya' were welcomed home by many Owners.
With beauty to rival the flower blossoms, and a somehow melancholic look in their eyes, these SD gained a popularity so strong it was passed on into future generations.

In June, our long-awaited MSD Full Choice System began at all our Tenshi no Sumika locations. And then Super Dollfie were invited to America's largest scale doll convention, the 'International Fashion Doll Convention', on July 8th! We received great praise and support there for our creation of our evolving dolls called 'Super Dollfie', and we were able to tell American doll fans about the ideal of Super Dollfie. In the following month of August, the much aspired-for 'Super Dollfie Convention' was held in Texas in America, and in the home town of Austin, a feature report on Super Dollfie was put together, that spanned a full two pages, starting from the newspaper's front page! For the Volks staff, a reception like this absolutely overwhelmed them with emotion. On the 26th of the same month, Super Dollfie were introduced to those in the know via the American Magazine 'TIME', and on the 15th of September they were also introduced in 'FDQ' magazine. It was in ways such as this that Super Dollfie came to hold such a firm popularity in America. On November 15th they were even introduced in the 'Haute Doll 2005 January Edition', and they spread their wings further throughout America. Of course at the same time, we held a variety of events within Japan as well.
On August 1st, 'Dolls Party 11' was held at Tokyo Big Sight.
This time, the Limited SD that made their debut were SD13 Boy 'Isao Nanjou', SD Girl 'Anais II', and MSD Girl 'Yuni'.
Yet another protagonist was born into our ever-popular 'Tokyo Boys Story'. 'Isao Nanjou' - or 'Icchan' as he was affectionately called - boasted a gentle yet cool charm, and was welcomed home by a great many female Owners.

'Anais II', at last become a lady to suit her snow white dress, fulfilled her promise to meet again with Owners. And 'Yuni Suwaricco Version' made her entrance, utilizing a new 'suwaricco' body that allowed a cute sitting position. It was the blossoming of yet another possibility for MSD.

On the 19th, our cell phone website, 'Angel's Circle', was launched, making it now easy to come by SD information via your cell phone. Surely even our customers were coming to feel that Super Dollfie were gradually coming closer and closer to them?
And we continued to accomplish even more activities, such as an SD corner exhibit at the 'Hiroshima Animation Biennale 2004' event on September 21st.

On the 23rd of October, we held a 'Super Dollfie Standard Model Fair' event at all our nation-wide Tenshi-no-Sumikas.
SD13 Boy 'Link', SD Girl 'Kun', SD13 Girl 'Yori', MSD Girl 'Hisui' and MSD Boy 'Kohaku' were announced as new Standards. And MSD Girls 'Nagisa' and 'Midori' made their debut as the Limited SD for the 'Super Dollfie Standard Model Fair', their loveliness like flowers embellishing each and every Tenshi-no-Sumika.

Together with this event, we started the 'Tenshi-no-Sumika Full Choice System 2004'. We also renewed our popular Satogaeri system, thus bringing things one by one more in line with our Owner's wishes. At the same time, we took advantage of this renewal to commence our 'Super Dollfie Parts Exchange Service', which many SD Owners had been yearning for.
Our dream existed far off in the distance, and attaining it was no easy thing. And yet, with the support of so many warm voices, we were certainly moving towards it, one step at a time. We could never run out of the gratitude that we felt towards the Owners who honored us with their requests.

By November, the second season of 'How to become an SD Owner' was already beginning screening on Kyoto Channel.
And on December 5th, as SD Owners were starting to become more capable of customizing to their satisfaction, we held 'Dolls Party 12'.

Our Limited SD were SD13 Boy 'Tohya 2nd Version', just a little of his mysteriousness divulged in our phantom thief, 'Kohya', and Icchan, who had only just been released in August, made another appearance as 'Isao Nanjou 2nd Story Version'. For the girls, we released Shirou's younger sister, SD13 Girl 'Jun Tachibana', who had been selected as Haute Doll's commemorative model, and 'Sweet Dreams Mika', so peaceful in her warm scarf.
Surely, no matter which SD it was, they gave such happiness to their owners that it allowed them to forget even the winter cold itself.

On the 11th and the 12th, we had a display at the 'Seo Tai-Ji Mania Festival' event held in Seoul, Korea. Our angels born in Kyoto had become 'Super Dollfie of the world'.

2004 was the year that Tenshi-no-Sato, the starting point of Super Dollfie, at last made its appearance in the light of day.
And it was a year in which Super Dollfie flew out from Tenshi-no-Sato even further into the world at large.

Well now, what miracles did Super Dollfie meet in the following year?
Please look forward to that story next time!

* “SD13 Boy Isao Nanjou

Those who welcomed home Isao were able to pre-order the limited 'Isao's Wet Wig'. While 'Isao's braids' did not appear to be popular with the much-loved Shiro, they were very popular with Owners.

* "SD13 Jun Tachibana"

Jun is always carrying 'Jun's Komame'. It seems Komame's secrets were published in the Dolpa 12 Guidebook!
