Super Dollfie 10 Year History

What is "Super Dollfie 10 Year History ~Forever in Your Arms~" ?
The decade of Super Dollfie is days that we (VOLKS, VIRGINAL ART and ZOUKEI-MURA) have had with your support. Doll Design Department show you the ten years history with photos and from various sides.

The 2nd Theme My Favorite SD Dress

Posting of the VOLKS staff

Kobe Showroom - Doll Advisor - Sakaguchi

It’s already been a good seven years since I first heard about SD and received my first one. In that time I’ve had the chance to see countless outfits. Out of all of those, I would like to present to you my absolute favorite three outfits.

Number 3
“Mimi-chan’s dress”

In 2001, it was Mimi-chan that graced the cover of the catalogue used at that time. With just one glance, I fell completely in love with her in a single moment.
She was the old makeup original Mimi-chan.
Her fluffy poodle hair with its red ribbons, her huge green eyes and her primly pointed nose, her adorable lips and her open mouth… I love Mimi-chan!
From then on I was a prisoner, completely fascinated by the charm of Super Dollfie. The following year I was one of the many staff to be added to Tenshi no Sumika Kobe, and this is where I am now.
When I think about the fact that if I hadn’t happened to see that picture of Mimi-chan, I probably would not have become a Volks Doll Advisor or be where I am now, I am truly overcome with emotion. Fate really is a strange thing, isn’t it?
Even now whenever I see this dress and Mimi-chan, I’m taken back to that time, so for me I have to consider this a precious, favorite, irreplaceable outfit.

……this is a slight digression, but at Tenshi no Sumika Kobe we have a “Mimi-Only Album”! All of you Mimi-loving owners, if you should happen to drop by the Kobe store, please be sure to take a look. We welcome all your photos, not just of Mimi-chan! I look forward to your visit.

Number 2
“BABY x Volks collaboration dress”

From the collaboration with Volks at Hometown Kyoto Dolpa 5, the dress sets from BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT are still fresh in my memory. The beauty, the quality of them, was as if they’d taken human sized clothing and scaled it down to a smaller, lighter version. Surely it was absolutely wonderful for anyone who loved lolita fashion. Out of all of the BABY collaborations, my most favorite is from the first collaboration, the “Red Rose Dress” that Kira-chan wore.
Being able to wear matching outfits with your doll is surely the long-time dream (?) of any young lady.

For your favorite dresses, of course they look cute on your doll, but I also recommend putting them on a Display Torso (SD 8,190yen / MSD 7,140yen) and using them to decorate your room!

Number 1
“The first dress I made for my beloved daughter”

At the time when I’d only just received my beloved first SD, Mimi-chan, by chance I happened to find some fabric at a handicrafts store that was exactly the same pattern as an outfit that I’d worn many, many years earlier. In spite of never having done sewing or any kind of home economics class, I decided to make some SD sized clothes.
The seams were loose and coming apart, and I made free use of double-sided tape and superglue, so that it looks like something a primary school child created…… it’s a dreadful thing that I could never show to anyone, and yet… at the time when I looked at my dear daughter, dressed in that outfit, I adored her all the more for it.

In recent years, the number of new outfits from Volks and amazing clothes from dealers has greatly increased, and so my chance to make my own clothes has decreased. But in this world that’s deepening my love for and bonds with my SD, I want to try again and make for them just one more set of clothes.

I wonder what your favorite clothes might be? Please be sure to tell me!
