I took this photo at the well-known plum gardens, Shukukein, in Hiroshima. The weather was perfect, but it was also a weekday, so there were a lot less people there than I expected, and I was able to take it .

Shukukeien was made in 1620 by the chief retainer of the Hiroshima fiefdom, Souka Ueda, as a garden for the residence of the feudal lord, Nagaakira Asano. In 1940 it was donated to the city of Hiroshima by the Asano family.
However, sadly, on August 6th, 1945, at 8:15am, the city of Hiroshima became a tragic sight, due to the atomic bomb.
Many of my relatives passed away at that time, so when I visit the city, along with whatever I’ve come to do I also feel as though I am paying a visit to my ancestors.
Now is a time of great peace, but I fear that our society will come to forget the period of August 6th to 9th, and so I entrust them with this picture.
